(NSB) Programma met toelichting benevens de bronnen van het Nederlandsche Nationaal-socialisme (1938).
This is number #85. There were only 100 of these luxuary books containing the official NSB programm made in 1938 (!). Please see the enclosed digital image of a Volk en Vaderland (VOVA) newspaper snippet from the 6th annual, number 41, 14 October 1938, which explains these rare books:
“Het boek der Beweging
Aan het Hoofdkwartier (Strijd- en Verkiezingsfonds) is de intekening opengesteld op een bijzonder verzorgde uitgave van het “Programma met toelichting”, benevens de bronnen van het Nederlandse nationaal-socialisme” in een bepekrte genummerde oplage van honderd exemplaren. Elk exemplaar wordt eigenhandig door de leider ondertekend.
Het boek, waarvan de tekst op geschept papier is gedrukt, wordt ook typografisch uitnemend verzorgd, terwijl de zwarte band is uitgevoerd naar een ontwerp van kameraard Meuldijk in goud en de vier oorspronkelijke kleuren in het insigne der N.S.B. Prijs bij intekening F25,- per exemplaar.
Gezien het betrekkelijk kleine aantal exemplaren, dan vand eze uitgave zal worden opgelegd, is het raadzaam voor degenen, die hiervan een exemplaar in hun bezit wenschen te hebben, zo spoedig mogelijk in te tekenen. Het boek zal van blijvende waarde zijn en door de buitengewone uitvoering een rijk bezit voor kameraden, die dit bedrag kunnen missen.
Dat het bedrag voor een flink deel ook het S&V fonds zal versterken, vormt ongetwijfeld nog een reden apart, om van deze uitgave een exemplaar te bestellen”.
[The Book of the Movement:
At the Headquarters (Struggle and Election Fund) subscription is open for a particularly well-cared-for edition of the “Programme with explanation”, as well as the sources of Dutch National Socialism” in a limited numbered edition of one hundred copies. Each copy is signed by the leader himself.
The book, the text of which is printed on handmade paper, is also typographically excellent, while the black cover is designed by comrade Meuldijk in gold and the four original colours in the N.S.B. insignia. Price upon subscription: F25 per copy.
Considering the relatively small number of copies that will be ordered of this publication, it is advisable for those who wish to have a copy in their possession to subscribe as soon as possible. The book will be of lasting value and, through its extraordinary execution, a rich possession for comrades who can spare this amount. The fact that the amount will also significantly strengthen the S&V fund is undoubtedly another reason to order a copy of this publication].
So only 100 of these luxuarly books containing the NSB program were ver made in 1938. It should be mentioned that the cost of 25 guilders was at the time an anormous amount and almost half the salary of a working class man. As such the book was not for everyone and was only bought by very wealthy party members or given away at special occasions to special guests.
Of note is also that the memntioned signature of Anton Mussert became ultimately a printed in the back of the book signature. I’ve seen only 5 of these books over the past 30 years and all were WITHOUT actual original Mussert signatures. Among collectors is a myth that some of the actual signed books were signed postwar by a forger.
The here offered book contains in the back of the book, at the end of the regular tekst, only the printed Mussert signature. Just as it should be and was issued. Nothing altered, nothing added, all original as it should be.
This book is a very very rare collectable to find, with only a handfull known in some of the more advanced NSB or collaboration collections.
The condition is good, but there is a very light fading on the cover.
